Dust to Digital and The Art of Field Recording Vol. I

(This is an archived post from our old blog.)

Dust to Digital is a label out of Atlanta, Georgia. According to their website, Dust-to-Digital's mission is to produce high quality cultural artifacts, which combine rare, essential recordings with historic images and detailed texts describing the artists and their works.

The Art of Field Recording is a compendium of music compiled by Art and Margo Rosenbaum and is full of parlour tunes, church hymns, slide blues, chain gang songs, Southern gospel and creepy country ballads. Just my kind of stuff. Here's a little bit of video:

But Dust to Digital has other great fare, like a Tuvan folk song disc and a very cool String Bass Anthology.

Good people making good music available to the world. Good work.

Here's the Dust to Digital Website.
